Connect the Classroom

Have you secured your Connect the Classroom funding to improve internet speeds, Wi-Fi access, and network switching?

We work closely with schools to make sure they get the most from any available government funding, including the Connect the Classroom scheme to enable fast, consistent, secure, and reliable connectivity across your whole school or MAT.

Better Wi-Fi connectivity results in a better learning environment for all. Now is the perfect time to find out if your school or MAT is eligible for Connect the Classroom by booking a discovery call with our experienced team to secure a non-disruptive installation date during either the Easter or Summer holidays.

Get started with one phone call

Schools receiving targeted intervention through the Regional Improvement for Standards and Excellence (RISE) program are eligible to apply for Connect the Classroom funding to address the issues of:

Painfully slow speeds

Connect the Classroom mandates that the latest network standards approved by the Wi-Fi Alliance (Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7) are deployed, allowing newer devices to operate at their true potential. Access points that predate W-Fi 6 or 7 will start to struggle as they won’t be able to operate at the newer standards.

Security risks

Ransomware is a growing threat for schools with some having to physically close due to being unable to access their servers, files and IT systems. New threats love old technology, and unsupported Wi-Fi solutions, which no longer benefit from regular security patches are often an easy entry point for hackers.

A lack of guest access management

Guests entering your school or MAT have to sign in and out, and the same process should apply to your network. Connect the Classroom funding provides solutions to ensure no-one can access your Wi-Fi network unless they are known to you, have passed security checks, and their device has been authenticated.

Utilising network management tools

Without appropriate management tools, IT managers find it extremely difficult to know if and when areas of the network are struggling to handle high numbers of devices or increased traffic that puts a strain on bandwidth. By providing them with this information they can make informed decisions to maximize teaching potential, minimise downtime, and secure the network.

Service Benefits

  • Modernise digital infrastructure without spending your own budget - Connect the Classroom really does cover all of the costs associated with updating your wireless network, freeing up your own budgets for other projects. Hardware such as routers, switches, racks, and cabinets are all covered, along with our consultation, installation, labour, and configuration costs.
  • Identify and eliminate dead spots - If your school has dead spots where there is zero or poor connectivity, we will record this in our funding report to ensure you have the modern hardware, and the correct number of Wi-Fi access points on site to eliminate this issue.
  • Mentorship and upgrading skill sets are included as standard - Acting as trainers and mentors is our preferred way of working. Over the years we have received outstanding feedback around the time we take to up skill teams while working on improving IT infrastructure, and this applies to our Connect the Classroom projects. Our goal is to help you become self-sufficient in managing your wireless network, and if you ever need to ask a question, are team are always just a phone call away.
  • Scale your school and prepare for the future - We build from the ground up to make sure projects like upgrading wireless networks do not need to be revisited every few years. As student numbers and connected devices in schools grow and technology evolves, the work we will do today means your network will be able to keep up with learning demands well into the future.
